As the results of the reviews, 14 proposals had been accepted for the Special Session at the 2018 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robot and Systems (IROS2018).
Each organizer collects at least 8 papers for each Special Session. They will be reviewed similar to the regular papers and only the accepted ones will be published in the IROS2018 Proceedings. The organizer will be invited to be the Chair of the Special Session and responsible for.
If the number of accepted papers is bigger than 8, papers will be allocated in two sessions and if necessary will be completed with regular papers of similar topic. Just in case that the number of accepted papers is less than 8, the papers will be reassigned to the other regular sessions according to the topic.

Call for Forums
IROS 2018 is willing to host several forums in order to exchange innovative ideas, points of view and discuss issues around different approaches on robotics and related fields. We are particularly interested in forums that discuss non-technical societal issues of robotics such as robotic society, robo-ethics, new jobs and employment, regulations, citizens, culture, etc. We are open to different proposals and themes that may be of broad interest for IROS 2018 attendees.

Forums
How to write a proposal for a Forum
Proposals for forums should include:

A proposed title for the Forum.

A brief 3-4 paragraph summary for the session explaining the goal of the Forum and the themes to be discussed.

A proposed format for the Forum (time, presenters…).

A list of presenters with names, a short biography and topic.
Prospective organizers are invited to submit their "Forum Proposals" to forum@iros2018.org to be revised by the General Chairs. Proposals with significant overlap will possibly be merged.
